Recycling Banks
The Uhuru Trust aims to generate funds by placing textile banks in supermarkets, council sites, schools and on private land in communities. This will encourage recycling of unwanted clothinng, shoes and handbags. We plan to play a major role in the recycling of textiles, shoes etc.
In time, it is hoped that the recycling of cardboard and plastics will help us generate funds for our projects.
Please use the search facility on the right to look for your nearest clothing and shoe bank.
Door to Door collections
Through our network of volunteers, trustees and benefactors we have started door to door collections in various counties in England.
The voluneers post leaflets with bags encouraging donations of unwanted clothing and then collect the bags that are left outside.
The trust has a number of benefactors that organise the collections of the donations, they contribute a monthly donation dependant on the tonnage collected.
Please see below and image of one of the vans used for our collections.

Our Charity Shops
Uhuru ( Peaceful ) Trust opened its first shop in Mansfield just after the Easter holidays in 2010.
The shop is run by volunteers and provides a good source of clothing, shoes furniture and other other household goods at affordable prices to the local community.
100% of all proceeds generated from the shop go towards funding the Trust.
